Yeah. There should be a fair balance on how the map feels and looks. Gta v map is basically 2/4 of mountains but has a more realistic approach. Sometimes i do road trips on gta sa and then i appreciate just how beautiful (aside from blocky mountains here and there) the game actually is.

During the closed beta, a few people glitched out the map and put markers in the each corner of the map and established that it is in the region of 24kmx24km or 576km squared. GTA V had a much bigger map than GTA San Andreas, it had one city and one desert. San Andreas had three cities, multiple villages and backwoods, canyons, deserts, swamps, mountains, many small places to explore and varying terrain everywhere. San Andreas was smaller, but in my opinion more fun. GTA 5
